Girl Scouts “Going for Gold”
Last Sunday during announcements we heard from 3 Senior Girl Scout members of Troop 655: Sierra Caley, Laura Fricke & Taylor Tschudin who announced their Gold Award Projects (equivalent to Eagle Scout Award). Each project was designed to benefit some
aspect of
Sierra’s Project, Homes Without
Boundaries, entails her organizing, recruiting & facilitating this first time Bay Shore Church program, (under her mentor and liaison, church member, George Jones). Sierra’s desire to involve High School kids in Missions has her venturing to
the ongoing ministries of
Laura‘s Project, “Book It” to Bay Shore, is
Phase II of the Odette Gulley Library project, first completed by sister Girl Scout, Lauren Caley, who hand-built the bookshelves for her Gold Award. Laura’s love of reading and desire to give something back to the church that housed the memories of scout meetings, brought her to this project. To date, she has sorted, categorized, purged and input 800 plus titles into a library data base program for the church, and is soliciting new titles to be added
from various sources.

On MARCH 9, the girls will have information
and donation opportunities in the Concert Hall for those church members and guests who may wish to contribute to the support of any of their projects. Ways to donate include: check payable to
