Opera Coming to Bay Shore!
This summer the Bay Shore Church will offer three weekends of fabulous opera.
Five operas will be performed: Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor, Verdi’s Rigoletto, Bizet’s Carmen, Macagni’s Cavaleria Rusticana, and Moore’s The Ballad of Baby Doe. In total there will be eleven performances over the three weekends. The productions of Lucia, Rigoletto, and Carmen will be performed fully staged with sets and costumes. Megan’s fiancé, Jim Carhart has created all of the gorgeous costumes. Together Megan and Jim build and provide sets and props, and Megan stage directs all performances. Each performance will be accompanied by piano showcasing the amazing talent of Galina Barskaya and Paul Jarski. Guest artists this summer include the acclaimed Bass-Baritone Michael Gallup, Bass-Baritone Roberto Perlas Gomez, Bass-Baritone Terry James Welborn, Tenor Josh Shaw, and of course Soprano Megan O’Toole.
