Thank You Bay Shore Church

Thank you Bay Shore Church for the kind welcome you’ve given me as Office Manager. I’ve worked at various jobs including being a teacher, counselor, administrator, and freelance writer and editor. I started actively pursuing a life of faith in 1989 and have been interested in working for a church. I am a member of Parkcrest Christian Church in Long Beach, and I especially love to read and study the Bible. My challenge is to live the guidance which God provides in His Word. I’ve been in a dance ministry and for two years, I wrote one of the daily devotionals in the Global Prayer Digest which came out monthly and contained prayers for unreached people groups. One of the highlights of my Christian walk was a tour which I took with Parkcrest to Israel. The Bible came alive for me, and now when I read it, I picture the places I visited such as the Church of the Beatitudes overlooking the Sea of Galilee and the many splendors of Jerusalem. One of the main things that I learned on this trip was that God truly came for all people. For instance, the field where the angel appeared to tell the shepherds about the Lord’s birth was an ordinary small gravel field that could’ve been anyplace. Although God chose that specific field to announce the Good News, to me that ordinary field represented everyplace and people everywhere that were meant to be told the Good News and united in faith with Jesus, Lord and Savior. Outside of work, I love to walk in nature, and I walk almost daily by the golf course near where I live, Belmont Shore, or along the bay in Naples. I enjoy going to cultural events such as art exhibits, theatre, musical, and dance events. I also do creative writing, and I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.

Since I’ve started in this position, I’ve felt extremely grateful to work here, and I enjoy my varied duties such as working on the Carillon, the worship bulletin, and assisting people in person, on the phone, and via e-mail. I’ve been most struck by the sincere and enthusiastic welcome people have given me. It has been the kindest welcome I’ve ever received in a professional situation. People have been so friendly, and that has meant so much to me as a new person coming to work for an established and growing congregation. In days of old, the Levites served in the Temple of the Lord. Today, I serve in the House of the Lord along with Christians worldwide. I am blessed to come to a beautiful and peaceful place devoted to the growth of people’s faith and walk with Christ. My goal is to provide you with exceptional service in the spirit of the quality, kindness, and faith in action that I regularly receive and observe in the Bay Shore Church congregation. I wish you all the blessings of the Lord.
