Sermon request:  “As Christ represents peace, where did the concept of ‘Christian soldiers’ come from?”  We’ll use the history of the hymn, Onward, Christian Soliders, and a harsh saying of Jesus as back-ground to see what he says on the issue of “peace”.

Lay Reader: Blake Rea
Blake has been a Bay Shore Church member for one year and has lived in Long Beach for one year.  Blake is married to Leslie Groene and has two daughters, Courtney, 19, and Katelyn, 17.  His favorite church involvements are the Fellowship Club, Charlie’s sermons, and anything Leslie tells him to do.  Blake is a Financial Representative with New York Life Insurance Company, and he enjoys travel, golf, scuba, skiing, reading, movies, fitness, and motorcycling.
