Robert Campbell is a retired paralegal and community association manager, and he recently earned his law degree. Robert is currently involved in self-help groups and with community activism. He has resided in Belmont Shore most of his life, and his mother Marjorie is an active parishioner at neighboring St. Bartholomew’s. He has been attending Bay Shore Church for about six years.

Lynda was born and raised in Long Beach, and she has been a Bay Shore Church member since 20o4. She has enjoyed teaching Sunday School for the last 7 years, and she said that the kids at Bay Shore are phenomenal. Lynda is a Technology Teacher at Kettering Elementary School and is a fitness Instructor at the Belmont Athletic Club. Lynda’s family includes her husband Bob, daughters Mandy (25), Nikki (23), and son Troy (19). She loves doing things with her family as well as traveling, bicycling, most sports, and creating video productions.

Liturgist: Dede Gilmore
Dede was born and raised in Long Beach, and she has been a Bay Shore Church member since 2002, but grew up here as a child. Her favorite church involvements are being in the choir, being a past moderator (third generation in her family!), and attending Blake and Leslie’s wedding. Dede is the Fitness Director at Frog’s Fitness, and she has a seven-year-old Shih Tzu named Maximillian. Dede also enjoys attending theatrical events, reading, and exercising.

Jon has been a member of Bay Shore Church for 10 years and has lived in his new home in Long Beach for one month. His favorite church involvements are singing in the choir and playing handbells. His mother, Jennie, also attends Bay Shore Church. Jon is a Planning Manager for Isuzu, and he enjoys walks with Gus and Mike.
This is Bay Shore Week at Pilgrim Pines Camp
This year, we have campers and counselors in-training from Bay Shore attending all six weeks of summer camp at Pilgrim Pines. But the most campers from Bay Shore are there July 13-19, in what is now week 3. Charlie Ensley has been at camp this week as a cabin counselor for minis, 1st-3rd graders. Campers are to be picked up at 10 a.m. this Saturday, July 19. Don’t forget your driver’s license. To protect the release of campers to author-ized persons, the camp requires this.
Food Finders Founder Speaks This Sunday
Arlene Mercer, founder of Food Finders, and treasurer of the Long Beach Area Coalition for the Homeless, will bring the mission message this Sunday. Food Finders distributes food from grocery stores, hotels, restaurants and caterers to local charitable agencies. Our church regularly donates $500 to Food Finders, and last December donated $1,100 to the Coalition for the Homeless for their rainy day shelter at First Congregational Church. Arlene and Charlie Ensley used to be on the staff of a New York church together.

Al and Esther Watts celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on June 29 at Sunrise in Seal Beach. Many church members attended the reception.

Sixty years ago Albern and I chose Bay Shore to be our church and the members of Bay Shore to be our people.
It has been our pleasure and joy to make such dear friends while teaching, working, sharing, learning and loving.

Fellowship Club This Saturday at Landes’ on Treasure Island
The Fellowship Club is continuing its summer potluck and social gatherings this Saturday, July 19 at the home of moderator Dick and Linda Landes, 5621Corso di Napoli, Naples/Treasure Island. Call Linda for food assignments at (562) 439-1681. Bring your own table service and beverage of choice. Plan a lovely evening overlooking the Peninsula as the sun sets over Alamitos Bay.
Carillon Folding Help Needed Wednesdays at 9:00 a.m
We need extra people to join four others to fold the Carillon and prepare it for mailing. It takes about 90 minutes. Come join the other folders for a morning of fun, fellowship, and folding!

His son, D.J., and his daughter, Kate, will attend the University of Redlands in the fall, and his youngest daughter, Amanda, will be a junior at Wilson High School.
