C.A.R.E. Program Thanks BSC

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

Margaret Servin, Coordinator of Client Services for the C.A.R.E. Program, sent the following thank you to the church.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your congregation for the Smart and Final cards. We have purchased more food bags for our most needy clients.  On a weekly basis we have individuals who are homeless and clients in very difficult situations come in for emergency food assistance. We are very thankful for the generosity of your congregation. Without your gift we would not be able to provide this assistance to our clients. Your heartfelt gift is making a huge impact in many lives. We cannot thank you and congregation enough!

Blessings to All,
Margaret Servin, MSW

Charlie Surprised on 35th Anniversary of His Ordination

Wednesday, June 11th, 2008

Last Sunday at worship, Charlie Ensley was surprised on the 35th anniversary of his ordination to Christian ministry on June 10.  Woodworker John Brunner presented him with a cross framed within an arch, constructed with wood from his two former churches, Pilgrim Pines, Bay Shore sanctuary and outside tree, Sky Forest and Bethlehem.

Charlie writes:

No words can express my complete surprise and delight at this special gift.  It brings back memories of places very significant over the past 35 years.  Thank you, John, for your creative woodworking, and Bay Shore Church for honoring me once again.  I am pleased to have had the opportunity to serve Bay Shore these past 21½ years.
