I am delighted to learn of the Nov. 11 concert of Frances Nobert, presenting organ works of women composers. This post is linked to AfriClassical, the blog companion of the website http://www.AfriClassical.com Florence B. Price is one of 52 composers and musicians of African descent who are profiled at the website. A Works List and a Bibliography can be found at her page at the website. It is the work of Dr. Dominique-René de Lerma, Professor of Music, Lawrence University, Appleton, Wisconsin. He has devoted the past four decades to the study of Black composers and performers of classical music. I had thought that this e-mail would take the place of the Weekly Carillon but it doesn’t. It’s good to have information available by topic but it is also good to have it in the Weekly Carillon format.

Therefore, I am not ready to give up my mailed Carillon . . . yet.
